A Hebron High School student was killed Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident. Police believe the person who hit him was driving drunk.
According to police reports, 16-year-old Trevor Schor of Lewisville was making an unsafe u-turn on FM 544 near Plano Parkway when his vehicle was hit by a Chevy Malibu, which did not stop.
Schor's aunt Cindy Henderson said he was turning around to help his girlfriend, who called to tell him she had a flat tire.
"Trevor was always trying to be helpful," she said. "He turned around to go help her even though he knew that her father was on the way. He said 'I'm too close. I don't want you by yourself.'"
Schor was pronounced dead at Parkland Memorial Hospital. A passenger in his vehicle was also injured, but later released from the hospital.
"Kids just don't understand they have to be just so so careful," Henderson said. "Everyone does."
Police on Sunday arrested 33-year-old Arturo Almora-Juarez of The Colony on charges related to the crash, including driving while intoxicated.
